Issue:
After update to Firefox 31, Firefox will no longer display some web site's SSL (secure) pages. Chrome and Safari still display the sites successfully. The error includes sites that were not self-certified. Multiple SSL error codes are presented especially if pages are reloaded. First error code is generally:
sec_error_ca_cert_invalid
.
Solution:
1. Open a
new tab
in Mozilla Firefox.
2. Enter the following URL / address:
about:config
, and click
return
.
3. A button with the text, "
I'll be careful, I promise
", is displayed.
Click that button
.
4. Scroll down all the settings until you get to:
security.use_mozillapkix_verification
. Double click that option and you will see the option value change from the default value
false
, to
true
.
